Commitment of Heart

Today thinking about the word commitment, it requires something on our parts. There is one definition that really caught my attention in writing this, The state of being bound emotionally or intellectually to a course of action or to another person or persons: a deep commitment to liberal policies; a profound commitment to the family. Looking at true commitment is a act of love that requires the heart.

When I begin to think about how in my life God has always been faithful in my times of disappointment and being let down by friends and family, Christ has never failed me. Thinking about God’s commitment to me, there was not one time where I called Him or asked God to help me that He did not come.Commitment to Christ is not easy if its not in our hearts to be committed, yes the world is seductive, Our own sinfulness beckons us, Yet, our commitment, our faith, and those special moments when we feel God is near encourage us as we live in our daily struggle. The Bible calls for commitment. As we read the Bible our eyes are opened to see that all humanity is in the struggle of faith. Yet through it all Jesus calls us. Come and follow. Come and follow me. Following God is never a disappointment, He is committed to His children, He will never fail us.

Most of us, however, will live caught in the middle. We will live in the tension of being faithful and committed to God one moment and striving to achieve our every want and desire the very next second. Some times we recognize the miracles of God in our lives. For fleeting moments we see the glory of God. When we see a newborn child. When we participate in someone’s baptism. When we recognize the natural beauty of the world around us. When we recognize that we breathe and yet, we don’t understand how we took that first breath that made us alive. In those moments we are ready to say Yes, I believe in God with all my heart. Yes, Jesus is the Son of God. Yes, I am committed to following my Lord and Savior. However, sometimes we will scratch our heads and wonder, God are you really out there? When something goes wrong even though we tried our best. When we try to help someone and they turn their backs on us. When we are faced with the death of a loved one or a child and we just simply do not understand. With life will come some uncontrollable situations, so in that we must still remain committed to God, God does not change His position in your life, so with the uncontrollable situations stay committed to God.

Matthew 13:44-46 (NIV) 44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.

Refuse To Worry

In this world there will always be something enticing you to worry. That is the nature of a fallen, fractured planet: Things are not as they should be. So the temptations to be anxious is constantly with you, trying to worm its way into your mind. The best defense is continual communications with me, richly seasoned with thanksgiving. Awareness of My Presence fills your mind with Light and Peace, leaving no room for fear. This awareness lifts you up above your circumstances , enabling you to see problems from My perspective. Live close to Me! Together we can keep the wolves of worry at bay.

Luke 12:25-26 25 And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life’s span? 26 If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about other matters?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Power Of Words

Overcoming Negative Words.
(Amplified) Proverbs 18:20 A man’s self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil].
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

Words are seeds that we sow which produce fruit. Our lives are products of those seeds. If we are going to live a victorious and abundant life, we must guard our words. We must plant good seed.

We must realize that we have been given the most important force in life words, and when we speak them, we can bless our lives or curse our lives. No one has the power to do this unless you rehearse the negative words. When you have been told something negative your response should be what does the word of God say, concerning that issue.

We can overcome what ever we face with the Power of applying Gods word over our minds and speak it out our mouths.
